Reconstruction of the Secondary Processing factory

Project involved the total reconstruction of the Secondary Processing factory building at the Tegel Foods site in Christchurch following a major fire in January 2007.

Construction commenced in April 2007 and was completed in October 2007 using fast track construction methods. Reconstruction of the facility with minimum delay was a priority for Tegal along with maximising the opportunity presented to incorporate technological advances. The short construction time meant that construction was underway on critical trades with only sufficient information to start whilst final details had yet to be completed. Construction was undertaken in parallel with the detailed design for building services.
